Someone asks if you’re pregnant on your live and you have to explain fibroid bloating for the first time in your life, because this time you couldn’t hide it 😅

Look, I get it. My doctor literally told me I have the uterus of a 4-month pregnant woman because of my fibroids. So when this stranger on my live asked me this, I wasn’t as offended as someone else probably would have been 🤭

And since we’re here (and it’s Black History Month) let’s talk about it. Did you know that Black women are 2-3x more likely to develop #fibroids than other women, and we tend to get them younger and more severely. Yet so many of us suffer in silence because nobody’s talking about it.

I’ve been dealing with this privately for years now. The bloating, the extreme pain, the severe anemia, and the things I dare not even speak about here. And if you’re like me, eventually it gets to a point where you just can’t hide it anymore. And honestly? That’s ok, because I’d rather talk about it.
