Never in a Million Years
It was just a few months ago that the two beauties you see pictured above and I were in Costa Rica enjoying great food, drinks and soaking up the sun. What I would give right now to get that back. What I would give right now to just leave the house… but alas, quarantine continues. For good reason of course. When we were in Costa Rica we could have never imagined that only a month later my sorority sisters, who are nurse practitioners, and other healthcare heroes like them, would have many long days and nights ahead. I could have never predicted that I… We… Would all be stuck at home for months. Had we known, I’m CERTAIN we would have savored each moment that much more. All we can do now is just hope and pray that Coronavirus subsides and that a cure for it comes quickly. In the mean time, we can also express our gratitude.
Thank you
From me to all of the frontline healthcare workers–Thank you. For all the sleepless days and nights, the travels to unfamiliar states to care for strangers in a manner that is putting your own life at risk, I salute you. For the little to no breaks you get in your day and the moments where the only peace you can find is on a cold hospital floor as you rest your feet and body. Thank you. For the days, the weeks, the months you’ve been away from your families, staying in a different location as to not put them in harm’s way, we are thankful. For the heartbreaking moments and the pain you’ve endured seeing people take their final breaths, watching patients virtually say their goodbyes to their families, we pray for you. For the mental, physical, emotional, unseen, unknown and unspoken impact that this is having on you and those who love you…we could never repay you, but we offer our thanks. To the doctors, the nurses, the medical professionals of all kinds, those who came out of retirement to answer the call to serve, the hospital cleaning staff and security guards, the essential workers and all those not mentioned, but certainly not forgotten, THANK YOU SO MUCH!
When Thank You Isn’t Enough
Needless to say, these healthcare workers need and deserve a nice, long, getaway once Covid-19 is at bay and it’s safe to travel again. As a token of your appreciation for their sacrifice, you can nominate the nurses in your life for a free 3-night beach vacation through the Cheap Caribbean Beach Shift Giveaway. They’re offering 50 nurses across the country, one in each state, a chance to win a tropical vacation. They’ll be able to put their feet up and relax at Riu Hotels & Resorts for their choice of three nights between August 1, 2020 and December 15, 2021. Click here to nominate a nurse or to have your family and friends nominate YOU!
Another way you can hook a healthcare worker up is through Cheap Carribean’s Buy One Give One special. When you book your next vacation through them, they will give a free night to a healthcare worker. The offer is valid on new air and hotel package bookings of 6 or more nights to Mexico or the Caribbean, made between April 30 and June 30, 2020. I hope every healthcare hero is honored in one way or another during and after all of this! In the comments below, feel free to share a kind message thanking the healthcare heroes in your life or sharing a location you hope they get to vacay in once this is all over!

This post really puts things into perspective. I pray mental, physical, and emotional health for all healthcare workers across this world. They are seen, they are appreciated, they are loved –and hopefully many of them will receive the rest they need and deserve once covid is less of a threat. Thank you for reminding us all to stop and offer our gratitude. Truly, it’s the least we can do.

Lauren MurphySo true, Lauren! Thank you so much for stopping by and commenting on this post. I love how you mentioned that “they are seen,” because truly oftentimes that’s all we want as people… To be seen and acknowledged! <3
