SOLO DIP TURNS SIS TRIP
It happened back in August while I was looking for wedding anniversary destinations for my brother and his wife. I was told to look at places within the Caribbean, but as fate would have it, I happened to stumble upon a beaauuuutiful all-inclusive resort in Costa Rica. It was never a place I even thought to visit necessarily, but after being awestruck by the pictures I saw of the biodiversity and remembering a friend years ago brag about how memorable his trip there was, I became intrigued. Within hours of doing research, I made up my mind. THAT was there I wanted to be for my 30th birthday.
The vibe I had hoped for? A tranquil celebration filled with rest, self-reflection, oneness with nature and peace. Time with God. 2019 was a looong uphill battle kind of year for me. I was ready to finally feel like I was descending. I didn’t jump on buying tickets out the gate though, because at the moment I was job hunting and had no idea what life would look like 4 months from then. I told my bestie in passing about my starry-eyed dream to visit the land of “Pura Vida” and she insisted that she wouldn’t let me go alone… Solo trip no more, but I was SO excited for the possibilities.
WRITE THE VISION MAKE IT PLAIN
I eventually landed a reporter job in New York but I didn’t get the green light to take the time off until about a month before my birthday. Ahhh! That left me with mere weeks to plan. One night, I asked a few of my sisters, who are nurses, about getting travel vaccinations and they gave me their recommendations along with a “Hey, can we come too” text. Umm duh!
COMMIT TO THE CAUSE, QUEEN!
I quickly learned that when it comes to group trips, at least ONE person has to be serious about planning oooor there will be NO trip. Thankfully I’m type A… bolded and capitalized for a reason. I loved the long nights watching youtube videos and reading blogs about this magical country. The trip is actually what inspired my launching of trips & dip! As I planned, I learned of the thermal rivers and hot springs, horseback riding at the base of the Arenal Volcano, the lush green landscape and the very present animal life.
LIFE IS GOOD
I still think it’s ironic that I chose Costa Rica. I’ll go as far as saying it was destined. Their national motto is “Pura Vida,” which means Pure Life. For Costa Ricans, it’s a greeting and a way of life. Simple, carefree, easygoing. The overall vibe there is exactly that. It’s laid back, welcoming, breezy, relaxed- everything I imagined for my 30th birthday… and more. See for yourself in the video above!

An impressive share! I have just forwarded this onto a co-worker who has been conducting a little homework on this. And he actually bought me lunch due to the fact that I stumbled upon it for him… lol. So allow me to reword this…. Thank YOU for the meal!! But yeah, thanks for spending some time to talk about this subject here on your web page.
